Marathon NextGen Realty : SIP (OCT 2014)

Two major decisions are taken at this month. One is a selling decision based on the current development and another one is addition of a share to the bunch.

1. Sold Jaibalaji at 15.4 * 330 Numbers = 5000/- , due to the recent Supreme court judgment of deallocation of Coal blocks. This will create more trouble to the already debt ridden company. So took the decision to sell. Presently not used this money to buy anything and kept in portfolio and added to free cash. Any future dealings will be updated in the blog.

2. It’s very long time since anybody have shown interest in realty sector and is the most beaten theme. Also it may take a long time to revive the entire sector. Any how, I feel its time to gradually nib in to this sector with a very long term view.

Another discouraging factor about this sector is majority having less transparent promoters, and their dealings. Out of these bunch, I have found value in the above mentioned stock with the following key factors.

  1. Zero debt and healthy reserves
  2. 75 % Promoter holding
  3. 2.8 % dividend yield (best in present)
  4. Coming up projects and future potentials.

Will be an outstanding performer, when the Realty sectors revive ultimately. But may require a lot of patience and only need to add systematically.

* Presently its not a VP recommended stock.

Bought 27 Numbers at 182/- per share.

  1. While adding or selling from portfolio better to avoid odd numbers like 27 or 32 96 etc which is bit irritating Better to have round numbers like 30 35 or 100 etc etc

    1. Sorry if it's irritating.

But the numbers are not fancy numbers or pre planned. While allocating a particular amount (say 5K or 10 K) or almost near, we gets that particular quantity of shares only.
      :(

    3. Ha Ha ..
      Really enjoyed ur comment.
That was the most witty comment I read since starting the blog (in last 6 months)!!

Coming to the point, by reading ur comment, i feel like u r more like a trader than long term investor. See the difference, For an investor, he likes to see the share price at almost same level, where a trader want quick money in coming days.

Anyway, you are at wrong place, even if u follow my blog or other blog like VP's. You will not be making long term money; neither short term money :) , doubht? read the following.

THE REASON: I wil explain with an example scenario: suppose VP recommneds a share at Rs 100 (say), the chance u will be getting it around that price is remote. It almost move to Rs 140 - 160 Rs in circuits. You may be only able to enter that level.

      What happens next?
In majority cases it comes down to Rs 120 - 130 (at that level only, i usually enter; unless extreme undervaluation / scope is there ) lossing ur 10 - 30 rs ( 6 to 20 % trading capital) in almost 90% cases, since these picks are mainly low volume, intermediate entry and exit will be difficult :(

PS: This message is for all traders trading in VP blog or MVPP blog or similiar ones. Please think and act smart :)

    1. I couldn't buy Blackrose to MVPP, since its price appreciated much. Since SIP money is only available in the beginning of month.

Let me make it clear, Presently, I am having two portfolios, one MVPP (started in May- Jun 2014) and a personal portfolio (started much earlier, 8 years back), and blackrose presently in my personal portfolio only.

    3. DEFINITION OF 'ECONOMIC MOAT'
The competitive advantage that one company has over other companies in the same industry. This term was coined by renowned investor Warren Buffett.

No problem in disclosing the names of shares, but don't ask about number of shares or allocation percentage in personal portfolio.

      1. Shirpur Gold
      2. Sequent Scientific

    1. Dear Pranab,
3 months is very small experience required to get the skills of investing. So my advice is don't try to make quick money. Don't invest with borrowed or money put for other purpose. Also trading also won't help u in long term. It will only make u busy during market hours !! [ if ur purpose is to cope with boredom then its ok, but not for making money :) ]

MVPP : my VP portfolio - (My Value Pick Portfolio)

SIP: it's the short term of Systematic Investment Plan. Putting a regular amount on fixed time interval (normally monthly). So many Mutual funds are there. But you can urself use this method to invest in quality stocks to create long term portfolio.

Not following Kellton, just had a look; they failed to deliver in the past. And IT is the most difficult field to catch the right stock and promoters. Than any other sector, the most number of fraud companies are from IT field (due to its nature of business) in India :(

  9. Span Diagnostics (VP old reco) will be deciding business transfer on 18Oct. Do you expect any value unlocking for shareholders ?

    3. Thanks for the link, eventhough it waas not directly accessible, I got it.

Then SPAN have around 30 Cr debt. So it all depends on two things: 1. how the will utilize it after getting the money. 2. And the size of business portion they are selling.

Scope for a one time appreciation after that it all depends on their future business. A better case study is available with Smart Link Network System. (They sold their business for much higher value )

  10. Hi What's your view on housing finance companies - Repco, DHFL, and of course GRUH..I am sure on a time horizon of 10 years these stocks will provide good returns..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hopefully all will do fine.

But the key is valuation and comfort at entry level. Otherwise it will give you a steady but slow moving return.

These picks are decent buy's for me at this levels, rather than extreme value buy's.
